Romantic love for a person of the opposite sex should not actually have lustful thoughts involved when considering marriage. If you are attracted to a certain someone, you should think in your head "Am I the person they need, are they truely following God and is God really the center of both of our lives as individuals?" If not, there needs to be some serious reconsideration. There are many questions to ask yourself and ask God when considering this issue. God centered love is not selfish. So the main thing when I think of love is "Am I just being selfish and is this relationship only for me? Or am I giving to the other person everything more then they could ever wish and hope for?" It is everything you have of your heart and the love of God shining through to that person, at their best and worst of times. Hope this is an okay answer.
