VP OF RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

Brooke brings over a decade of institutional giving experience from a diverse array of nonprofit agencies, coupled with a passion for change and fostering healthy communities. Her dedication and commitment to guiding investment toward effective and meaningful nonprofit work has led  to securing grants and from a wide range of sources—government, foundation, corporate and major donor. As a grant writer and giving manager, Brooke has played an essential role in producing compelling grant proposals. Her strategic approach to institutional fundraising has resulted in over $35 million directed to organizations seeking to make a difference in their communities. This expertise in nonprofit building is rooted in Brooke’s insight into philanthropic trends, public funding and emerging nonprofit program models.

Before focusing on grant writing, Ms. Barber managed development and humanitarian projects in Niger, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Domestically, Brooke interned with Green Peace in Washington DC, managed programs and raised funds for immigrant and refugee serving agencies in California, Minneapolis and upstate New York, and consulted with three African based NGOs that work in poverty alleviation, improved agriculture and access to credit. Ms. Barber initially studied abroad in Trinidad and Tobago and later completed her Master’s Degree in International/Rural Development in the United Kingdom. Brooke also holds a Bachelors in Anthropology, a diploma in Non-Profit Administration and a certificate in Grant Writing.

Brooke now lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, enjoys the vibrant local music and arts scene, and still loves to travel.
